It was pretty cool to discover the source for the bake sale image/quote. I first came across it during my student activism days and it definitely struck a chord with us. I remember it showing up on buttons, walls, and even in satire – the “bake sale committee” was a derisive reference to student unions that attempted to position themselves as neutral. We responded to the fence sitters with another quote:
